2017 Montréal International Dragon Boat Challenge and Cultural Festival: another successful event!

On July 8 and 9, MCCAF in partnership with Mission Dragon organized the the 6th edition of the Montréal Dragon Boat Challenge and Cultural Festival at the Olympic Bassin of Parc Jean-Drapeau.

The Foundation was pleased to have Mr. Denis Coderre, Mayor of the City of Montréal, and Mr. Peng Jintao, General Consul in Montréal, presiding the event. Also present were Mrs. Alexandra Mendès, representing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mrs. Kathleen Weils, Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities, and Mr. Dimitrios Jim Beis, Borough Mayor of Pierrefonds-Roxboro and member of the Executive Committee responsible for procurement, sports, leisure and communities of diverse origins .

The challenge had gathered more than 6 000 people on site!

MCCAF would like to thank all the event sponsors for their great support and helping to make of this challenge another great success!

2017 Week-end du monde : a promising first participation for the Chinese community !

On July 8 and 9, MCCAF participated for the first time at the 2017 Week-end du monde, an event gathering Montréal's communities from all over the world at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

It was a great opportunity to present the art and culture of China to the audience.

FEBRUARY

Montréal Chinese New Year Concert : a delightful first edition !

On February 11, MCCAF was pleased to present the China National Opera and Dance Drama to celebrate the Chinese New Year. These first-class artists brought the audience around fabulous Chinese scenaries through rich folkloric music, dance and songs. 

We would like to thank Mr. Gaetan Barrette, Mr. Marc Miller, Mr. Jim Beis and Mr. Peng Jintao for attending the concert and for their support to the Chinese art and culture.

CALLS FOR PROJECTS

You have a project to better your community, an idea of a show to help local talents to get known, send your proposal to the Foundation, and we will study it to see if we could give you the support you need. Please ensure you give as many details as you can so we can have a good picture of what you want to achieve.

 

Take note that all projects will be considered as long as they have no offensive, sexual or racist contents, and are of a good taste.
